What a fantastic day room 9 had exploring the different activities available during discovery. One of the most popular tasks was the sand saucer practice for pets day. There was sand and flowers everywhere. Everyone had a fantastic time!!

We finished off the end of a very busy term today by decorating biscuits. We made some very cute - and scary creatures. Unfortunately Mrs Kanes phone wouldnt work when we tried to take a photo of them. But please be assured......they tasted delicious!!
We wish you all a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break.

We are sitting in the hall with the rest of the school enjoying all of the different items in the talent show. We have seen and heard some amazing talents!!! We cant wait to see who wins.

Today was awesome. Our discovery focus was - helping to tidy up. We discussed what it looked and sounded like in the class. Then we put it into action when we played with Oobleck, ate popcorn, made sherbet, made sand volcanoes, watched a robot and joined in heaps of other activities. Awesome, awesome, day!!

On Thursday we had a visit from Constable Ross. He spoke to us about our Kia Kaha unit. We learnt who we can go to if we were upset or having problems with other people. Thanks for the wonderful lesson Constable Ross.

Today we had lots of fun getting our hands sticky and dirty. Unfortunately we cant say what we were doing as its a surprise for fathers day!!!

The junior school had loads of fun today at discovery. We focused on including others while participating in the different activities.

Today room 9 was extremely busy looking at iconic Australian things. We made a pavlova in class and all had a go with the electronic beater. We also had a go at making boomerangs. Unfortunately they did not fly well. Our favourite part was eating the pavlova. It was delicious!!!

Today we had a black mufti day at school. We all dressed up and even got our faces painted. We are supporting the first All Blacks international rugby game since the big Chritchurch quakes.

Today we had 4 new children visit our class. They will start school soon. We had lots of fun showing them how we do reading in room 9.

Today we had a fantastic writing session. Everyone was focused and working hard. Our stories were amazing. Our sounding out even knocked Mrs Kane's socks off!!!

It snowed on Wednesday last week and our school like many closed for the day. On Thursday we came to school and had heaps of fun writing stories and drawing pictures of the snow. We even got to play in the snow!!

Today we walked down to the hall with the junior school. We had a colour mixing art lesson from Neil Shaskey. Our colour wheels looked amazing.
